However, advance booking figures have defied all such predictions. Advance bookings for the film have already opened overseas. “Jana nayagan” has received a strong response from the North American and UK markets.

This is why “Jana nayagan” has earned ₹35 crore (approximately $1.5 million) in advance bookings. This is happening even though advance bookings in India are not yet fully open. According to the trade website Sacnilk, the film has earned ₹7 crore (approximately $1.5 million) in India, of which ₹4 crore (approximately $1.5 million) has come from Karnataka alone. However, most of the film’s bookings have come from overseas markets. Why is this the case? There’s a reason behind it. “Janayagan” bookings haven’t fully started in Tamil Nadu. Vijay has a massive fan following in Tamil Nadu. There is a huge demand for morning shows of his films in this state.
People have taken to the streets to support him.The film has earned only ₹1 crore from Vijay’s home state so far.Why is the film receiving such a lukewarm response? Fans and the filmmakers are blaming the Censor Board.Janayagan is scheduled to release on January 9th.But the Censor Board has not yet given the film a certificate.
They are deliberately delaying the release.According to an India Today report, the filmmakers submitted their film to the CBFC on December 18th.The Censor Board then requested some changes, which the filmmakers complied with.Even after making the changes suggested by the board, there has been no response from them. The filmmakers are asking, “If the changes have been made as per the Censor Board’s instructions, then why the unnecessary delay in issuing the certificate?” The film’s producers have also filed a petition against the Censor Board in the Madras High Court.
The Censor Board has not yet given any answer as to why they are delaying the issuance of the certificate. The film has still not received a certificate. Because of this, theatre owners also lack clarity. They are also wondering whether the film will actually release on its scheduled date. For this reason, they have started cancelling shows of “Jawan,” which is directly impacting the film’s business. Nevertheless, it is still earning a huge amount of money through advance bookings.
